photos from an island...

holidays with a child come back more tired than you were when you left. But there are many experiences, emotions, feelings that you would not have had if you have stayed at home: )

La Palma - Isla two and Erica, the child who loves everybody around, from the stewardess in the plane to the coffee man, from whom we drank our "cortado condensada".

his birthday today

Today my father would have been 62 years old...9 years and he passed away or he "expired" as the Indians would say, as I find it funnier. It fits perfect as my father was one of the funniest and joyful person ever. Sometimes when I find myself in a hard situation I have to remember one of his jokes or sayings and it feels better.
This is the last photo I took of him and the rest are taken in the same day, 9 years ago on Easter.
I don't get so emotional in my posts but I think this year motherhood affects me in a deeply manner.

Today is his birthday and he would have been the grandfather of my daughter, Erica.

Little old soul

I visited with my niece the Natural Science Museum in Berlin. As all children, she wonders in the most beautiful ways at things that she sees but she acts in her gestures like an old lady.
My little old soul... : )

I find it challenging to make portraits sessions. Especially if those people are not used with photography or they are camera shy. I am a camera shy person myself and I don't know how or where to hide whenever somebody else wants to photograph me. I have always considered this an advantage because I know how to deal with people like myself.  I have to find out in a matter of minutes what make the other person's tick, what makes him laugh and so on. However, first photos are always only to warm up. Normally a photo session can last around an hour and the best photos are at the very end when all the layers are dropped and we are both tired a bit.

Sommerfest in Kindergarten

Till few years ago, I didn't even know that something like this exists but there it is ... a sommerfest in Kindergarten. In Romania, while I was a child, I don't remember what we have...sort of celebration at the end of the year, where we had to sing, dance and so on; all of these in front of parents. Same here but more activities and with food. This year the party was even bigger because kindergarten celebrated 60 years old.
Mira was not the happiest that day but in the end with a bit of cookies or actually with a lot, we made it through the day.
I have missed to say it's about the kindergarten of Mira and Anni, my blonde girls.
